A fun day on all floors at Youngplace this Saturday

This Saturday, Dec 14, Artscape Youngplace comes alive with several festive events throughout the building.

Starting at 1pm, join us for a Family-friendly Holiday Button-making Workshop with artist Lyla Rye. Learn principles of collage and make unique art buttons, perfect for stocking stuffers and holiday gift-giving!

Workshop is free to attend; click for more info and to RSVP

After you’ve crafted buttons to your heart’s content, head down to the Silk of Paradise Tea Party Pop-up Shop for tea, cupcakes, and holiday shopping of the glamorous sort (we’ll be checking it out ourselves after gallery hours)! Open 12–9pm; for more info and to RSVP, see their Facebook event page here.

Take a break for dinner in the nabe, then come back to the building for an intimate PWYC chamber music concert by Elixir Baroque Ensemble from 8–10pm, complete with wine and cheese. More info here.

All events, including the Koffler Gallery’s ongoing inaugural exhibition and Heather Nicol’s curated hallways and staircases (installation in progress) are listed on the Events page of the Artscape Youngplace website.

We hope to see you on Saturday!

The buttons are fun, often humourous, miniature works of art that capture moments in which alternate realities collide in too-perfect-to-be-planned ways.
